Shahabuddin's associates surrender in wildlife offence

Bagaha, Bihar, Jul 24 (UNI) Four associates of incarcerated RJD MP, Mohammad Shahabuddin, who were allegedly involved in hunting of a deer, surrendered before the court here today.

All the four accused including the Mukhiya of Madanpur Belahwa Panchayat, Mohammad Ershad Hussain, charged under various sections of Wild Life Conservations Act, surrendered before the Additional Judicial Magistrate.

The other aides of RJD MP who surrendered were Poshak Mian, Afzal Hussain, and Ibrahim Mian.

Earlier, a photograph was recovered during a raid in April 2005, at the Pratapur based residence of Mohammad Shahabuddin in Siwan district in which RJD MP and the four accused were sitting beside a dead deer. The building which appeared in the photograph was owned by Mohammad Ershad, one of the accused in the case.

After inquiry, Forest department had identified the four accomplices and a case was registered against them under Wild Life Protection Act. Mohammad Shahabudding had already been booked under the said act in concerned police station.
