Probe into Nallamala encounter, job for Madhav's son: Reddy
Hyderabad, July 24 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Home Minister K Jana Reddy today ordered a magisterial inquiry into the Nallamala Forest encounter in which CPI (Maoist) State Secretary Madhav and seven naxals were killed and offered a job to the slain leader's son.
Refuting reports of any fake encounter, Mr Reddy said the Maoists should shun the path of violence and join the mainstream putting an end to such incidents.
The encounter had taken place place in forest area between Darabayalupenta and Nekantipenta villages on yesterday at 1025 hrs.
Police had identified Madhav and his security personnel Susheela and Shyamala.
''They recovered an AK-47 and five 303 rifles, two 9 mm pistols, a DBBL gun, Rs 2.34 lakh in cash, kit bags, magazine rounds and solar plates. Four police officers went in a helicopter to bring the bodies to Markapuram for post-mortem,'' Mr Reddy said.
The Minister said a case under Sec 176 of IPC (death due to police firing) was registered and if any police excesses came to their notice, action would be taken, he added.
The government was ready to help Madhav's son on humanitarian grounds by providing him with a job, as a special case, he said.
Instructions had been given to police to hand over the bodies to their family members once they were identified, he said.
