Police officials reach encounter spot

Ongole, Andhra Pradesh, July 24 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Greyhounds Inspector General(IG) Durga Prasad and Guntur IG Sayanarayana today reached Nallamala forest area of Erragondapalem mandal where eight CPI (Maoist) naxals, including State Secretary Madhav were killed in an encounter in Prakasham district yesterday.

Police said the two police officials came to Markhapuram by a chopper and went to the forests along with the newspersons.

The bodies would be airlifted by this evening to Markhapuram and sent for postmortem to government hospital.

Andhra Pradesh Civil Liberties Council (APCLC) General Secretary professor Sheshaih and other members also reached Markhapauram.
