PCCSS Convenor Ambrish Rai said the common school system is the only way to achieve quality education for all.

''The present bill does not meet these requirements,'' he added.

Besides several students' and teachers' organisation, CPI polit bureau member Brinda Karat and historian and educationist Arjun Dev participated in the protest.

The National Alliance for Right to Education and Equity also demanded that the bill be tabled in the monsoon session of Parliament.
