One more witness turns hostile in former minister's murder case

Patna, July 24 (UNI) One more witness in Bihar's former minister Brij Bihari Prasad murder case turned hostile during his deposition before the court today.

The CBI produced constable Bhrigunath Thakur as its 38th prosecution witness before additional district and sessions judge of Patna, Ram Niwas Prasad.

The witness admitted that he was posted as a security guard of former minister at Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, Patna, on June 13, 1998 when Mr Prasad was gunned down. He said that on the same day, the leader and his bodyguard were shot dead but denied giving any statement to investigating agency.

On the prayer of the CBI, the witness was declared hostile by the judge.

An MP and several MLAs and former legislators have been accused in the murder case.
