One killed, three injured as car falls into gorge in HP

Shimla, July 24 (UNI) One person died and three others were injured, including a senior Himachal Pradesh Government official, when thier car fell into a gorge in this district, police souces said.

''The accident occurred at Nangal Devi, about 25 km from here, after their Alto car skidded off the road and fell into the gorge,'' sources added.

The seriously injured included Bharmaur SDM Harbans Negi, his wife Lalita Negi, father-in-law DD Negi, while the SDM's mother-in-law Bhagya Devi died in the incident, sources said.

Meanwhile, their son Gogi escaped unhurt.

The injured had been admitted to a government hospital at Theog where their condition was stated to be critical.

Though the sources said the cause of the accident was not immediately known, a case has been registered and investigations were on.
