Newly-wed dies of burn injuries

Akola, July 24: A newly-wed woman, resident of Popatkheda village of this district, died of alleged severe burn injuries at the general hospital here, police said.

According to police, the deceased, Sangita Anil Palwe, got married to Anil Palwe two months ago, reportedly despite the opposition of her father-in-law for the marriage.

The couple was living with Sangita's parents.

The woman's body, who died yesterday, was later taken up by her father, who performed her last rites, police added.

In another incident, a young married woman Archana Vitthal Konge, of Adoli village in the bordering Washim district, died of drowning in a well yesterday.

The cases of accidental death have been regsitered in both the incidents, while further investigations are on, police said.
