Nehru hockey to start from October 10

New Delhi, July 24 (UNI) Nehru hockey tournaments will kick off this year at the Shivaji Stadium with the 13th edition of the girls event here from October 10-18.

The Jawaharlal Nehru Hockey Tournament Society today announced its calendar of events and the eight-day-long girls tournament would be followed by the 24th sub-junior (under-15) event.

The 35th Junior (boys under-17) Tournament is slated for October 31-November 13, followed by the 43rd main senior tournament from November 14-25 and the 14th champion colleges tournament from February 8-17 next year.

President of the society Ram Niwas Mirdha has written to all Chief Ministers, requesting them to get the qualifying competitions organised by the education and state departments at the district and state levels.

Calendar: October 10-18: 13th Girls Tournament October 18-31: 24th Sub Junior Boys Tournament October 31-November 13: 35th Junior Boys (under-17) Tournament November 14-25: 43rd Main (Senior) Tournament February 8-17: 14th Champions Colleges Tournament.
