Namibian delegation calls on Delhi Chief Electoral Officer

New Delhi, July 24 (UNI) A nine-member delegation from Namibia, led by its Election Commission Chairman Victor L Tonchi, visited the office of Delhi's Chief Electoral Officer with the view to familiarise with the ''on the ground poll function'' in India.

Delhi's Deputy Electoral Officer provided the delegation the details of the electoral system in India.

It was given a presentation about the Constitutional provisions on election related activities, the functioning of the Election Commission of India and field functionaries like district election officers, electoral registration officers and returning officers.

The delegation was also shown a presentation on the Electoral profile of Delhi.
