Nallamala encounter not fake : Reddy

Hyderabad, July 24 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Home Minister K Jana Reddy today brushed aside allegations that the Nallamala encounter was fake and agreed to send revolutionary singer and balladeer Gaddar to the forest area if he wanted to prove that the encounter did not take place.

Talking to newsmen here, Mr Reddy said the encounter cannot be fake. It happened as part of maintenance of law and order.

''If Gaddar wants to go there and prove that it was a fake encounter, the state government will provide full security to him.

He or anybody who is has a doubt can go there and inspect the scene of encounter,'' he said.

Asked about the demand by civil liberty leaders to bring naxals' bodies to Hyderabad for autopsy, he said already it was taking lot of time to shift bodies from Nallamala forest area to Markapuram. ''Now for autopsy. if the bodies had to be brought to Hyderabad, there would more delays,'' he said.
