MP Govt's financial management good: Raghavji

Bhopal, July 24 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Finance Minister Raghavji today described the opposition's allegations regarding bad financial management and indiscipline as baseless and said the state government's financial management has secured it Rs 293 crore from the Centre as incentive.

Replying to a debate over first supplementary demands for 2006-07 in the Vidhan Sabha, Mr Raghavji said better financial management also resulted in the Twelfth Finance Commission providing Rs 263 crore as loan relief amount for 2005-06 for the first time to the state. However, the Centre paid the amount one year later.

Both the Centre and the Planning Commission had praised the MP Government's financial management from time to time.

The legislative assembly passed supplementary demands of Rs 1,317.01 crore after the debate.

Mr Raghavji rejected the opposition's charges regarding less allocations for SCs and STs and said the budget had allocated Rs 100 crore and Rs 344 crore for welfare of tribals and SCs respectively.

The Finance Minister said the Centre had not granted relief in education, diesel and several other heads and the state government had made two-thirds of the provisions in the budget on its own.
