Gandhinagar, July 24 (UNI) Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today asked a group of 15 Indian youth born in America, currently on a week's visit to the state, to project the unique features of the state to people abroad.

In a free-wheeling interview to the students in the age group of 18-23, he asked them to motivate Non-Indian Americans to visit India and see progress made by Gujarat in the recent past.

''If one Non-Resident Indian (NRI) could motivate five Non-Indian Americans to visit the country, it could provide a big boost to the Indian tourism industry. Incidentally, 2006 has been declared as the 'Year of Tourism' in Gujarat,'' he said.

Talking about the state's unique features, he said, Gujarat can boast of the world's second longest network of Optical Fibre Cable (OFC), besides the 2,200 km long bulk pipeline Gas-Grid, being linked to home distribution network.
