MCD failed to carry transportation of garbage in its six zones:BJP

New Delhi, July 24 (UNI) The opposition BJP in the MCD today alleged that the Congress government had failed to properly carry out desilting of nallahs and transportation of garbage in six out of 12 zones under the corporation where the garbage bins are maintained by private companies.

Addressing a press conference here, Leader of the Opposition in the MCD Subhash Arya and Member of the standing committee Vijender Gupta alleged that private companies are not maintaining the garbage bins, or 'Dalaos', properly and further were depriving the MCD of crores of rupees by way of revenue by obtaining bogus receipts from SLF sites for dumping the garbage.

Mr Arya alleged that eight months have passed when these private companies started their work but the dalaos remained full to their capacity by Garbage.

''The private companies have not even spent Rs 15 crore for maintenance of dalaos which these companies have to do. No employees are deployed at dalaos. At the same time, these companies are earning crores of rupees through advertisement on dalaos,''Mr Arya said and alleged that all this was being done with the active connivance of contractors/officers/Congress leaders.

The BJP leaders demanded that Lt Governor order a CBI probe in the matter.
