K'taka to distribute drugs to arrest Chikungunya
Bangalore, July 24 (UNI) The department of Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopahy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy (AYUSH) will distribute medicine to treat Chikungunya cases in Karnataka.
An official release here today said some effective medicines were available in Ayurveda, Unani and Homoeopathy systems and public could get them by going to dispensaries or hospitals run by AYUSH.
The symptoms of Chikungunya, caused due to mosquito bites, were high fever, tiredness, joint pain and swelling, naucea, dysentry, reddish eye and difficulty to walk properly.
The disease was spread due to storage of water in tanks, drums and other containers for more than five days and lack of cleanliness. People were asked to used boiled water for drinking and spread neem smoke around their premises.
