KDA to concerned over injustice mete out to Kannadigas

Bangalore, July 24 (UNI) The Kannada Development Authority (KDA) will seek a report from all the public and private enterprises in the city about the number of Kannada-speaking people employed in their firms to set things right, its Chairman Siddhalingaiah informed today.

Speaking to newspersons after holding a meeting of the office bearers of Kannada Organisations in Bangalore and Bangalroe Rural district here, he said there were reports that Kannada-speaking people were mete out with a woefully raw deal by employers, both in private and public sector in the state.

He said after receiving a factual report from both private and public sector enterprises, he would discuss with the state government to set things right to remove gross injustice mete out to Kannadigas.

Mr Siddhalingaiah said the KDA had also sought a detailed report from all the tahsildars and deputy commissioners on implementation of Kannada language in day-to-day administration.

He said the Karnataka High Court had issued orders that lower courts should conduct proceedings in the state language Kannada. The KDA had also planned to publish a volume of judgments delivered in Kannada by some courts in the state to motivate magistrates to conduct all their judicial processes in the state language.

Mr Siddhalingaiah expressed concern over IT companies ''ignoring'' Kannada-speaking people and said the KDA would take up the matter with the state government.
