J'khand and Chhatisgarh to coordinate to produce Silk
Ranchi, Jul 24 (UNI) The Jharkhand Khadi and Gramudyog board and its Chhatisgarh counterpart today agreed to coordinate each other for expansion and production quality Silk and Khadi.
President of Chhatisgarh Khadi and Gramudyog Board Kripa Ram Sahu today met his Jharkhand counterpart Mr Jainandu and they formally agreed to work in tandem for qauality production of silk and khadi.
Breifing about the meeting, Mr Jainandu told UNI both the boards have agreed to exchange technology and knowledge for producing silk and khadi adding as both the states have similar geographic conditions and producing silk on large scale.
Later on, outlining the achievements of his unit, Mr Jainandu said the board has attained one third of its target of establishing 75 per cent Small Scale Industries (SCI) in Khadi sector in past three months.
He said Central Khadi Commission had assigned five states- Jharkhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, Mizoram and Uttar Pradesh- to establish 75 per cent SCIS in khadi sector, whereas for other states the target was of 25 to 50 per cent.
He said the board has set up a target of establishing 745 SCIS in state this year adding 186 units would be of gramudyog sector and remaining 549 units would belong to khadi sector.
