Healthcare centre launched in Seelampur
New Delhi, July 24 (UNI) Asha, a community health and development society, today launched a centre in East Delhi for slum dwellers .
Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee President Ram Babu Sharma inaugurated the centre in Seelampur area which will benefit about 30,000 slum dwellers.
The Health Centre will provide a wide range of services.
Children under the age of five will be immunised, provided vitamin supplements and monitored for growth and development. Patients of tuberculosis will be treated as per the WHO-designed DOTS programme and doctors will conduct twice-a-week general clinics.
Health awareness campaigns will be conducted against HIV, diarrhoea, malaria and other diseases. Expectant mothers will be examined, immunised and given nutritional supplements.
