HC disposes BJP activist's petition against M F Hussain

Mumbai, July 24 (UNI) The Bombay High Court today disposed of a petition filed against known artist M F Hussain by Sanjay Bedia, a BJP activist, for portraying Hindu gods and goddesses in an objectionable manner.

A division bench comprising Justices D G Deshpande and S A Bobde, while disposing of the case, held that the police had already filed a 'first information report' against Hussain and therefore the purpose of the petition was served.

Earlier Mr Bedia, in his peition, had said that Hussain was in the habit of presenting Hindu gods and godesses in objectionable manner and apologising later.

He had also made a complaint with the V P Road police station in this regard and since no action was taken, he had approached the court.
