Four arrested on charges of extorting money

Hajipur, July 24 (UNI) Four criminals were arrested on charges of extorting money from four officers (probationers) of Indian Administrative Services at Mahatma Gandhi bridge toll collection Centre in Vasihali district late last night.

All of them were sent to jail today.

According to the police, Devesh Mehra (posted at Gaya), Kuldeep Narayan (Muzaffarpur), Ajoy Yadav (Patna) and B Morgandi (Purnea) were intercepted by criminals when they were returning to Patna after meeting district magistrate of Vaishali, Lalan Singh.

The nabbed anti-socials were identified as Vidha Bhawan Prasad, Santosh Kumar (both from Patna), Kedarnath Singh and Kamaldeo Singh (both from Saran district).

A case had been registered with the Ganga Bridge police station.
