London, July 24 (UNI) Desperate to have Andrew Flintoff fit in time for the Ashes series, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) will seek Cricket Australia's (CA) approval for arranging a few club-level games for the all-rounder after he recovers from the ankle injury in about 12 weeks' time.

''We're investigating areas in which our injured players, including Freddie, can play cricket. South Africa is one Australia is another,'' England's Chairman of selectors David Graveney was quoted by the 'Guardian' as saying.

Flintoff will undergo a second surgery on the troubled ankle this week and is virtually out of the Champions Trophy in India in October. If things go as planned, the all-rounder will be sent Australia for practice games.

''We still believe Freddie will be on the plane to Australia.

Once he has the operation we can make our plan from there. If the symptoms they think are causing the problem are correct a 12-week span is probably accurate,'' Graveney said.
