Allahabad, July 24 (UNI) Expelled BJP leader and former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Uma Bharti today said the demand of Uttar Pradesh minister Mohd Azam Khan for a separate Muslim state and UP CM's ''support to SIMI'' would lead the nation towards a 1947 like situation.

Talking to reporters here, the national president of the newly formed Bharatiya Janashakti Party observed that in 1947 Mohd Ali Jinnah blackmailed the sentiments of the people and no one dared to oppose.

''The result was the creation of Pakistan and spread of hatred among Hindus and Muslims.'' She said it was unfortunate that political parties and politicians had forsaken the polity of issues, ideals and morality.

''This deterioration has come in the last 10 yrs and the trend is very dangerous for the country,'' Ms Bharti warned.

She asserted her party had come into existence at the right time.

''The people of UP are fed up with corruption, mafiaism and goondaism and want to get rid of the Samajwadi Party government.

Ms Bharti advised people not to vote for those, who had corruption charges against them and were given tickets for money. ''A leader should be recognised from his deeds and not from false assurances.'' Announcing to contest all the seats in the 2007 UP assembly polls, she said her party would give 50 per cent tickets to women.

''We have already started preparations.'' On Jaswant Singh's recent revelations in his book, Ms Bharti said he should make public the name of the person, who was engaged in spying in the prime ministers office.

''Mr Singh should tell, what action he took against him and if he fails to do so, he should be treated as a traitor.'' UNI JL VS SB ND2046
