Dasa Sahitya Project celebrates Trimasika Metlotsavam
Tirupati, July 24 (UNI) About 4000 Srivari devotees from Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka participated in 'Trimasika Metlotsavam', trekking from Alipiri, the foot hill of Tirumala to Tirumala, organised by Dasa Sahitya Project here today.
Speaking on the occassion, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Executive Officer, A P V N Sarma said the great Saint and poet Annamacharya, Purandhara Das and Ramanujam, who were walking up through Srivarimetu, offered worship of Lord Venkateswara.
While appreciating the efforts of Dasa Sahitya Project, which has been rendering invaluable service in spreading Dharma and Venkateswara Mahathayam since last 20 years, Mr Sarma urged the members to explain Srinivasa Vaibhavam to the people in the villages, in these States.
Earlier, as members of Srinivasa Bahujana Mandali and other "Bhajana Brundams" of Dasa Sahitya Project took out a procession as a prelude to the "Utsav" from Govindaraja Swamy temple to TTD's Thyagaraja Mandapam singing, the glory of the Lord and dancing chanting his name played kolattam.
TTD JEO Balaramaiah, Dasa Sahitya Special Officer P R Ananda Acharyulu and TTD PRO K Ramapulla Reddy and others participated in the event.
