CPM demands genuine voters' list

Agartala, Jul 24 (UNI) The ruling CPI(M) today urged the Deputy Election Commissioner to ensure inclusion of names of genuine citizens and issue of identity cards to all voters.

The demand was placed before R Balakrishnan during a meeting he had with recognised political parties here.

The party also demanded deletion of fake names and those of the dead from the electoral rolls and requested holding the next election through electronic voter machines.

The CPI(M) assured all help to the Election Commission.

State Committee Secretariat member Gautam Dash and Narayan Kar represented the party.
