Construction of Metro extension to Dilshad Garden begins
New Delhi, July 24 (UNI) The Delhi Metro Rail Corp today began piling activity for the Metro's extension by 3.09 km, linking Shahdara Station to Dilshad Garden.
This extension would have intermediate stations at GTB Enclave and Jhilmil and be fully elevated at an average height of 12 m, DMRC sources said.
The work was being executed through IJM-IJM Infrastructure at a cost of Rs 89.30 crore.
The section would be opened to the public in December 2008 and would be the first section of Phase II of the Metro to be completed.
