Committee probing fake certificate cases in MP
Bhopal, July 24 (UNI) An inquiry committee that probed 480 cases wherein fake caste certificates were furnished to secure jobs, has tackled 180 of them, the Madhya Pradesh Assembly was informed today.
''Police Superintendents concerned have to furnish details in the 300 pending cases. Strongly-worded letters were dispatched to the officers directing them to provide information within a fortnight,'' Tribal Welfare Minister Vijay Shah said in reply to supplementaries during the question hour.
The matter was raised by Mr Manmohan Shah Batti Gondwana Gantantra Party (GGP) who alleged several persons gained employment by furnishing fake certificates stating they were tribals.
During the question hour itself, Speaker Ishwardas Rohani felt it was improper to collect funds for the Red Cross in government schools as economically-deprived students were enrolled there.
''I urge the government to contemplate over this,'' he added.
Earlier, Mr Girijashankar Verma (BJP) alleged that sizeable amounts were being collected from children in Hoshangabad district.
