College lecturer arrested for derogatory remarks
Ludhiana, July 24 (UNI) A lecturer of a local college was today arrested for making derogatory remarks on gods and godesses, belonging to a particular religion.
According to the police, Sunil Aggarwal, a lecturer in Political Science in Kamla Lota Memorial College, made these remarks during the course of a lecture in the BA first year class. A student Varun Kumar objected to the remarks in the classroom and he later got a complaint registered with the college authorities and the police.
After verifying the status of the complaint, the police was summoned by the college authorities. A case under section 295-A of the IPC was registered against the lecturer and he was arrested.
The college authorities have placed him under suspension.
