Carborundum Q1 net profit up by 46%
New Delhi, Jul 24 (UNI) Carborundum Universal today posted a 46 per cent increase in its net profit at Rs 13 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2006, as against Rs 9 crore in the corresponding period last year.
The company registered 29 per cent increase in its net sales from operations to Rs 114 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2006, as compared to Rs 88.37 crore in the same period last year.
The Company's exports also registered a robust growth of 44 per cent at Rs 14 crore from Rs 10 crore. The product availabity points at West Asia and Canada helped the company to step up its exports.
Sales of Ceramics registered a growth of 28 per cent with the demand from domestic key user industry segments of ceramics, sponge iron, cement and glass continued to be good.
Carborundum Universal is a part of Murugappa group working in diverse areas on business including engineering, abrasives, finance, general insurance and others.
