New Delhi, July 24 (UNI) The Interpol in Nairobi today informed India that the person arrested on July 21 and suspected to be Lashkar-e-Toiba militant Syed Abdul Karim 'Tunda' was actually a a British national of Nigerian parents.

Subsequently the arrested person, Ismoila Olatunde Rufal, was deported to the United Kingdom from Kenya today, according to the CBI.

The Interpol message categorically said it had not arrested Abdul Karim alias 'Tunda', wanted in several cases of bombing in India.

Born in London to Nigerian parents, Rufal was arrested along with two others -- Abdul Hussein Mumin and Abdul Galgalo -- in Mombasa, Kenya on Friday last.

They too were also not Indian nationals but Kenyans of Somali origin who were 'detained' in connection with the inquiry regarding an abandoned vehicle and were later released.
