3 tortured monkeys captured by PfA
Bangalore, July 24 (UNI) The city-based People for Animals (PfA) has suceeded in capturing three monkeys allegedly let into the forests by a Science Laboratory after using them for research purposes.
PfA Senior Manager Sharath Babu told newspersons here today that the organisation had swung into action after reading an item published under the Letters to the Editor column in a local daily that about 30-40 monkeys had been released into the forest area on the way to Satanur after subjecting them to chemical testing.
''We managed to capture three monkeys a couple of days back. They were very weak and had injuries on their bodies. These monkeys will be handed over to the Forest Department,'' he added.
Mr Babu said search was on to capture the remaining monkeys. ''We do not know who left them into the forests,'' he added.
