Aizawl, Jul 23 (UNI) In the wake of allegations that Chief Minister Zoramthanga was not serious to solve the the boundary dispute with Asom, the Chief Minister's Office (CMO) today clarified that Mr Zoramthanga was truly concerned with the border dispute between Asom and Mizoram.

In a statement, issued by the CMO, it was mentioned that Mr Zoramthanga, truly concerned with the boundary dispute, sought a chance to meet Asom Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi at his residence in Guwahati as the latter failed to attend the 11th plan consultation meeting in Shillong.

He had a serious talk on the issue with his Asom counterpart.

This was in reference to the statements, issued by some groups, which had doubted that the Mizoram Chief Minister ever discussed the boundary issue with the Asom Chief Minister, the CMO statement said.

Mr Zoramthanga told his Asom counterpart that the Inner Line Notification of 1875 should be based for redrawing the Asom-Mizoram boundary and urged that the dispute be solved as soon as possible without the involvement of violence, the CMO said.

In pursuance of the bilateral meeting, the Mizoram Chief Minister had even sent a letter to his Asom counterpart, urging him to ensure that no more tension breaks out in the disputed boundary areas, it added.
