World Malayalee Council on Aug 1

Kozhikode, July 23: As many as 2,000 delegates from different countries would participate in the fifth World Malayalee Council (WMC) meeting beginning at Kochi on August one.

While speaking to reporters here, WMC Global General Secretary, A V Anup said Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan would formally inaugurate the meeting in the presence of Overseas Indian Affairs Minister Vayalar Ravi on August 4.

Well-known film personality Kamal Haasan would be the chief guest at the function, he added.

Union Minister of State for External Affairs E Ahamed, State Ministers Kodiyeri Balakrishan, M A Baby and P K Sreemathi would preside over seminars on various topics organised as part of the programme, he said.
