Two retired Police officers arrested
Guntur, July 23 (UNI) With the Andhra Pradesh High Court issuing severe stricture, the District Police executed non-bailable arrest warrants against two retired Deputy Superintendents of Police and produced them before the Vinokonda town Judicial Magistrate here late last night.
The magistrate remanded them to judicial custody till August three.
It may be recalled that M Ramesh filed a criminal case against the police personnel for falsely implicating him in a robbery case and torturing him.
Ramesh who was released, after the arrest of real robber and recover of the booty, filed a criminal case in 2003, against the police personnel, for implicating him in the case.
While, one police officer died and two retired Dy Sps--G Haribabu and K Ramamohan Rao were alive.
The high court on July 21, 2006 expressed displeasure over the Guntur District Police for failing to execute the non-bailable warrants. The court also directed the state police chief that if the warrants were not executed before July 26, he should appear in person before the court.
