Steps being taken to enhance revenue

Pondicherry, July 23: The Pondicherry administration is taking steps to enhance the revenue resources in the union territory of Pondicherry, Chief Minister N Rangasamy has said.

Participating in a meeting of the All India Goods transporters association here last night he said steps were being taken for setting up of special economic zone and free port which would soon be inaugurated.

This would provide job opportunities to youngesters here, he added.

Mr Rangasamy said once the special economic zone and free port start functioning, there would be transport congestion there.

To prevent this, the transportnagar, which is in progress would be inaugurated in another five months.
