'State Govt has failed to check worsening law and order situation'

Pune, July 23 (UNI) BJP leader Nitin Gadkari today lambasted the Maharashtra government for its ''failure to check the worsening law and order situation'' and alleged that the DF government had brought a near Srinagar kind of situation instead of the much touted Shanghai.

Talking to reporters here, Mr Gadkari said during the Congress-NCP government in the state, there have been a total of 110 bomb blasts. There was no coordinaton between the coalition partners. He charged that capable officials were demoralized and given transfers.

The officials investigating the Khwaja Yunus case were booked under section 307 for doing their duty, and in this way, the state government was appeasing the minority community, he said.

Mr Gadkari was here to deliver a lecture on ''Lokmanya Tilak's Politics and Current Politics'' organised by the Tilak Vichar Manch.
