Speaker denies re-induction of suspended MPs

New Delhi, Jul 23: Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee today denied any initiative to re-induct MPs suspended for corruption in the MPLAD scheme and cash for query scams.

Talking to mediapersons after All Party Meeting here, Mr Chatterjee said that he has not received any such proposal and said that if brought before the house, he would then decide.

BJP Parliamentary Party leader V K Malhotra also said that the issue was not dicussed at the meeting.

The Speaker said that from tomorrow the 24-hour Lok Sabha Channel would start beaming programmes. He said that it would facilitate awareness among the viewers about the work being done by Parliament.

Mr Chatterjee said that all the parties have said that they would cooperate with him in running the smooth functioning of the house.
