Sonthwest monsoon vigorous in Saurashtra

Pune, July 23 (UNI) The southwest monsoon has been vigorous in Saurashtra and Kutch and active in west Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat Region, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra and Vidarbha.

Day temperatures were above normal in parts of west Rajasthan, where the southwest monsoon it yet to set in.

Heavy to very heavy rains are likely to occur at most places in Konkan and Goa, coastal Karnataka.

Heavy rains are likely to occur at most places in Saurashtra and Kutch and at many places in Madhya Maharashtra and Kerala.

Rains or thundershowers are likely to occur at most places in Gujarat Region and at many places in Gangetic West Bengal, Orissa, Jharkhand, east Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chattisgarh, Marathwada, coastal Andhra Pradesh and at a few places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Bihar, west Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, Telangana, interior Karnataka, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep and at isolated places in Rayalaseema and Tamil Nadu.

Heavy to very heavy rains have occurred at most places in Konkan and Goa and at many places in Himachal Pradesh and Madhya Maharashtra.

Very light rains have occurred at isolated places in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Jharkhand and Lakshadweep.

Rains or thundershowers have occurred at most places in Vidarbha and at many places in Uttaranchal, Chattisgarh, Telangana and at a few places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Gangetic West Bengal, Orissa, west Uttar Pradesh, Marathwada, coastal Karnataka, Kerala and at isolated places in east Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, east Rajasthan, east Madhya Pradesh, coastal Andhra Pradesh, interior Karnataka, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and at mainly dry weather prevailed over the Bihar, west Rajasthan, Rayalaseema and Tamil Nadu.
