Separate crime wing from law and order: K'taka HC CJ
Bijapur (Karnataka), July 23: Karnataka High Court Chief Justice Cyriac Joseph suggested that the crime wing of the police department be separated from law and order division to make investigations efficient.
Inaugurating a medico-legal workshop on the role of doctors, police and advocates here yesterday, he said police were overloaded with various works, resulting in poor investigation.
Stressing on the significant role of doctors, the Chief Justice advised the presiding officers not to make them wait for long for deposing.
Mr Justice Joseph appealed to the advocates not to prevent courts from delivering justice.
He acknowledged the contribution of doctors, police and advocates to the judicial system and asked them to help the court increase the conviction rate.
