Pranab hails army, IAF, Haryana govt for rescuing Prince
New Delhi, July 23 (UNI) Defence Minister Pranab Mukherjee today congratulated the Indian Army, the Indian Air Force, the Maharashtra fire service and the government of Haryana for a very well coordinated effort to rescue the five-year-old boy Prince out of a 60-feet well in Haldera.
In a message blessing the child, Mr Mukherjee said, ''We hope for a long life for Prince.'' Efforts to pull out Prince from the 60-feet-deep hole of a submersible tubewell in Haldera village in Kurukshetra (Haryana) continued for nearly two whole days.
The rescue was made after more than 48 hours since Prince, son of Ram Chander, a daily wage labourer, fell into the hole of the tubewell while playing with his friends on Friday evening.
