Hyderabad, July 23 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Director-General of Police (DGP) Swaranjit Sen today said the police are not interested in killing the Naxals, but it would be good, if they stop indulging in violence and carrying of weapons.

Reacting over the exchange of fire in Nallamala forest area in Yerragondapalem mandal of Prakasham district in which eight Maoists were killed, Mr Sen told newspersons here that Naxals will be well-off, if they shun violence and join the mainstream.

Asked about the Naxals who were killed in the exchange of fire, Mr Sen said he only heard about it and death of some Naxals. ''I am yet to receive the number of Naxals, who were killed,'' he added.
