Police issues SMS warning

Chennai, July 23 (UNI) Police have issued warning to all mobile-users against spreading of rumours through SMS from their sets.

Acting tough against mischief mongers, the police department sent an SMS to all BSNL mobile phone customers stating that spreading rumours was an offence and punishable under law.

''If you misuse your mobile phones for sending SMS messages that spread rumours, your instruments would be de-activated,'' the department warned.
