Notorious criminal slain in police encounter

Shivpuri (MP), July 23: A notorious criminal was shot dead in a police encounter at Satnawada area in this district last night, police said today.

''On a tip-off, notorious criminal Harbilas alias Nade was cordoned off near Foobat ghati area. He was killed during exchange of fire from both sides, while one accused managed to escape'' Town Inspector Devandra Singh Kushwaha said.

More than 25 cases, including that of murder of Hawk Force jawan Ashfaq, had been registered against Harbilas, who carried a reward of Rs 10,000 on his head.
