Monsoon weak over Coastal and South Interior Karnataka

Bangalore, July 23 (UNI) Following is a summary of observations recorded by the weather office at 0830 hours today.

Monsoon was weak over Coastal Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka.

Rainfall occurred at most places over Coastal Karnataka and at a few places over Interior Karnataka.

Chief rainfall amounts (cm): Kollur , Sirsi 3 each; Karkala, Gerusoppa, Nilkund, Hukkeri, Ponampet 2 each; Karwar, Belgaum AP, Haveri, Bhagamandala, Thirthahalli 1 each.

Forecast valid until Tuesday morning: Rain/thundershowers likely to occur at many places over Coastal Karnataka and at isolated places over Interior Karnataka.

Farmers Weather Bulletin: Light to moderate rain likely to occur at many places over all districts of Coastal Karnataka; at a few places over Belgaum, Dharwad districts of North Interior Karnataka and over Shimoga, Chikmagalur and Kodagu districts of South Interior Karnataka and at isolated places over Haveri district of North Interior Karnataka and over Hassan district of South Interior Karnataka. Mainly dry weather may prevail over remaining districts of North Interior Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka.
