Maoist State Sec Madhav killed in encounter

Ongole, Jul 23: State Secretary of the CPI(Maoist) Madhav, who replaced Ramakrishna and led the peace talks with the Andhra Pradesh government in 2004, was among the eight Naxals killed in an encounter in Nallamala forest area of Prakasham district today.

Prakasham District Superintendent of Police S Balasubramanyam said Madhav was among the eight killed in the encounter.

The other Naxals killed include Guntur District Secretary P Prakash alias Jeevan alias Mohan, Susheela and Shyamala.

Ramakrishna, who was taken out of Andhra Pradesh for tactical reasons, was presently heading the party operations in Chhattisgarh.
