Man kills mother for practising witchcraft

Jamshedpur, Jun 23 (UNI) A man has killed his step mother for practising witchcraft at Amda village under Dumaria police station area in East Singhbhum district of Jharkhand.

Police said Ram Kisku, a tribal, killed Rukmani Kisku when she was working in a paddy field yesterday.

Ram, after beating Rukmani with a stick, abused her for practising witchcraft. Then he stabbed her with a sharp-edged weapon to death. The woman died on the spot.

Police said here today that the man fled after committing the crime.

The body was sent for a postmortem.

A manhunt is on to nab the culprit.
