Jalandhar, Jul 23: Mahila Congress President Rita Bahuguna Joshi today said that her organisation would try to build pressure for introduction of the Women's Reservation Bill during the Monsoon Session of Parliament.

Talking to reporters here, Ms Joshi said that the organisation was making all-out efforts in this regard. She along with a delegation had already met UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, who had given encouraging assurances.

The women's delegation would also meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for appropriate action in this direction, she said, adding that the Mahila Congress would make all efforts to ensure early passage of the bill in Parliament.

However, the reservation provisions are not likely to come into force before the assembly elections in some states, including Uttar Pradesh and Punjab, due to be held by February next year, she noted.

Ms Joshi was in the town to participate in the 95th relief distribution function of Hind Samachar Group's Shaheed Parivar Fund today.
