Karunanidhi dares Jaya to go to court

Chennai, July 23 (UNI) DMK President and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi today dared AIADMK Supremo J Jayalalithaa to go to court against those who alleged that she had misappropriated Dalit lands at Sirudavur on the outskirts of the city, where her farm house was situated.

Joining issue with her on the Sirudhavur land row, Mr Karunanidhi, reacting to her remarks that she had taken the Bungalow only on rent, welcomed her move to initiate legal action.

''Only it (legal proceedings) will bring the truth to light on the issue'', he said and added that the country was eagerly waiting for that day.

He denied that the agitation launched by the Dalits, CPI(M) and the Tamil Nadu Vivasaigal Sangam demanding retrieval of the lands forcefully taken by the previous AIADMK regime, was stage-managed by the DMK.
