Jeev finishes tied 5th at Sega Sammy Cup

Hokkaido, July 23 (UNI) An error-prone Jeev Milkha Singh dropped three bogeys on the back nine but that could not prevent the highest-ranked Indian golfer from another top 10 finish as he ended his campaign in the Sega Sammy Cup with an impressive tied fifth position.

The Asian Tour leader returned an eventful one under 71 card to aggregate three under 285 and pocket 4.56 million yen for the effort. He finished nine shot of the winner, Wei-Tze Yeh of Taiwan who returned a sizzling six under card in the final round to take it beyond reach.

After an indifferent penultimate round, Jeev, who started at an overnight tied eighth position, looked in control as he banged in a birdie on the fourth and then gained another stroke on the eighth.

He lost his touch as soon he made the turn and dropped a shot on the 10th. A birdie on the 11th was followed by a bogey on the very next. The roller-coaster ride did not stop here and he dropped another bogey on the 15th.

However, he gained a stroke on the 17th to finish in the red.
