International Chamba Minjar fair begins

Chamba, July 23 (UNI) Animal Husbandry and Housing Minister Harsh Mahajan today enaugurated the International Minjar fair, 2006 by unfurling the Minjar flag at the historical Chamba Chowgan amidst playing of traditional seasonal songs of 'Kunjari Malhar''.

The week-long festivities would provide infotainment of all sorts to the people of the district as well as to those, who would visit Chamba on this momentous juncture.

Mr Mahajan said Minjar was the only fair in Himachal Pradesh, which was celebrated for eight days, during which this town becomes a commercial hub for rural masses of the district and a symbol of communal harmony.

He informed that Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh would be here for the closing ceremony on July 31.
