India beat Zimbabwe in Junior Squash Championship

Chennai, July 23 (UNI) India defeated Zimbabwe 3-0 in their Group match in the 14th World Junior Men's team Squash Championship at Palmerston North in New Zealand.

According to information from National coach Cyrus Poncha, the Indians won their match in straight games.

Sandeep Jangra gave India a flying start defeating Deepesh Patel, before Harinderpal Singh accounted for Ahmed Hussain. Naresh Kumar signed off the day in style with a victory over Zardeen Wazir.

India, seeded seventh, would meet Ireland tomorrow and then take on Pakistan and South Africa on Tuesday.

Results : (Group match): India bt Zimbabwe 3-0 (Sandeep Jangra bt Deepesh Patel 9-6, 9-1, 9-5; Harinderpal Singh bt Ahmed Hassan 9-2, 9-5, 9-6; Naresh Kumar bt Zardeen Wazir 9-4, 9-1, 9-0).
