Hizbul Mujahideen courier picked up in city

Hyderabad, July 23: The city police picked up a Hizbul Mujahideen courier from the city last night.

Police said the courier was identified as Awaid, alias Awad (32), of Batwada village of Nalgonda district.

The police suspect that he has delivered a letter asking for two AK-47s and Rs five lakh in November 2004 to HM activists Bilal Ahmed Shah and Kallu in Srinagar on the directions of the organisation's commander Mujeeb Ahmed.

Mujeeb was arrested recently, police added.
